Marine Corps Birthday!

November 10, 2009

Happy Birthday to the United States Marine Corps! In honor of the special birthday, I wanted to share some pictures of mine from a visit I made to Quantico a little over a year ago. The Marine Corps Museum is an AMAZING place that everyone, regardless of branch affiliation or military background should take the time to visit. Bring the kids! It gives you an even deeper appreciation and it’s just a simply incredible place. VERY well done. For more information on the history of the United States Marine Corps and the The Marine Corps Museum, visit these links respectively:

DSC02015The entrance to the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico, VA. You can see the top of the building for miles!

DSC02027One of the first exhibits you walk through. This chronicles enlisting and basic training, complete with drill sergeant booths you can walk into to be screamed at!!!

DSC02032A really moving painting in one of the galleries. We should always remember our heroes at hospitals like Walter Reed & Bethesda.

DSC02052I think I could have SO rocked this uniform. I always said that if it weren’t for basic training, I’d be an Army nurse in a heartbeat.

DSC02065There is nothing like a Marine in his dress blues…even if he is just a mannequin! 😉
